It could be anyone who comes in and out of our home everyday. The cellphone is not really that expensive. In fact, it’s actually very cheap but still I paid good money to buy that for my son. What worst? It got stolen right from inside our home.

I was sleeping when the cellphone disappeared but, according to my wife and son, the cellphone was just on the television cabinet when it suddenly disappeared. They noticed the disappearance when my wife’s eldest sister asked if she can use the cellphone to send someone a text message. Unfortunately, the cellphone was no longer there.

Also, when I woke up late that night, I noticed that the my digital camera’s leather cover was also missing. My guess is, whoever took the cellphone also took the leather cover to hide it which just convinced me even more that the thief is someone we know. It could even be one of my wife’s relatives because no one else comes in and out of our home except them but unfortunately that is something that is hard to prove since no one saw anything.

This morning, before he went to school, I told my son not to worry anymore about the cellphone. I know he feels responsible for losing it that’s why I told him not to worry about it. It wasn’t his fault it got stolen. Although, I won’t be able to buy him a replacement now because of our current financial situation but I told him that once our financial status gets better I’ll buy him a replacement.

As for who took it, I guess there’s really nothing we can do anymore. We have our suspect but without solid evidence that he took it then all we have is suspicion.

Our New Home

Itong Family

family

home

kids

moving
<guid

In fact, it’s on the same street. LOL!

Just so you know, we don’t have a place of our own. Like many families, we just rent an apartment.

Our new home is not very big. It’s actually much smaller than the old one even though they just cost the same to rent but we feel that it’s a much better place than the old one. My wife and I felt that the old place wasn’t a very good place because we kinda suffered a whole year of hardships there. My wife lost her job the first month we were there and the clients I got were a little hard to deal with. I’m just thankful that none of us got sick really bad.

Another reason why we moved is because we will be having a new baby late this April or early this May and we wanted to have a much cleaner surrounding for the baby. I’m not saying that our old place is a dump, it just that, a garbage truck is always parked right outside our gate. The entire house is also not very safe because materials used to build it was way below standards. At least at the new place, we feel much secure and we think we can survive a super typhoon without getting flooded. It’s also very quiet at our new home unlike at the old one where the surroundings are always noisy.

[flickr]photo:2368650478(small)[/flickr]

We didn’t encountered any problems moving. We had a lot of help from my nephew and his friends. The only problem we encountered was with my DSL connection. Our internet and phone service provider (PLDT) wants us to wait 3 weeks upon application before they transfer their service to our new home. That was not acceptable at all so we decided to change service provider. The next day, my wife went to another internet and phone service provider (DIGITEL) to apply for service and guess what, it only took them a few days to install and setup their service. It also didn’t cost that much!

Right now, we are still arranging things around but most of the big stuffs are already in placed. We just have to finalized the placement of things so that we could maximize the use of the limited space that we have.

[flickr]photo:2368655000(small)[/flickr]

Anyway, my kids and my wife love the new place and I’m really liking it too. It’s a little bit small but overall it’s much better than our old home. I’m sure we’ll have new experiences and more exciting adventures here.

Oh, Rain has new friends here already…

Dang Craves Puto Bumbong

Itong Family

blessed mother

christmas

city cathedral

coconut

home

mass at dawn

mystery

palitaw

pregnancy

puto bumbong

rice

simbang gabi

tradition
<guid

Here, the Christmas season officially starts on the first day of the “Simbang Gabi” or Mass At Dawn which is a 9 day novena to the Blessed Mother and it starts on December 16.

During this period or even throughout the holidays, vendors selling Puto Bumbong line the streets around churches all over the country. Puto Bumbong is made of ground rice and cooked in bamboo tubes using a traditional steamer. It has a violet or purple color and served with butter and grated coconut meat on a heated banana leaf.

My wife, who is pregnant, has been craving for a puto bumbong. I know she doesn’t really like it but it’s because of her pregnancy. So, we went to our City Cathedral, which is just a walking distance away from our home, very early in the morning to buy her a puto bumbong and, since vendors were everywhere, we were able to go back home immediately.

<img

After tasting the puto bumbong, Dang’s craving for it disappeared. Ahhhh… the mysteries of pregnancy! I’ll never understand it. LOL!
