Sunday, December 26th, 2010As with previous years, cash was very tight this Christmas but we don’t let that stop us from enjoying it. My wife and I, together with Rodymel, Romelyn and Rain, stayed up till midnight for a simple but very satisfying Noche Buena.

Later that morning, Rain and Rhomiel found their gifts from Santa Claus. Rodymel and Romelyn didn’t get anything because they already know the secret behind the whole Santa Claus thing. (more…)

Friday, December 24th, 2010Rodylyn, Rodymel and I were at SM City San Pablo 2 days before Christmas. We kinda didn’t do anything important, we just did a little window shopping, ate at the food court and left with a few pictures.

It was a short visit but we did have a good time. I took some pictures of both of them outside the Cinemas and, no, we didn’t watch any movie. I just couldn’t remember why we were there in the first place. Unfortunately, the pictures I took didn’t help me remember. T_T (more…)

Thursday, January 3rd, 2008Exchange Gift
At around 12 midnight, we all woke up to welcome Christmas (Dang and I didn’t sleep). We started the new day by greeting each and everyone a Merry Christmas and then proceeded with our exchange gift. The exchange gift was Dang’s idea. Usually, we buy the kids their gifts but this year we draw lots of whom you’ll give your gift to. Kuya Ar-ar and Ate Aryan saved some money from their daily school allowance and used that to buy their gifts. Of course, Baby Rain wasn’t able to that so Dang bought him his gift for the exchange gift. (more…)

Thursday, December 20th, 2007Today, Kuya Ar-ar, Ate Aryan and Baby Rain attended their class Christmas Parties. They all woke up early to prepare their things. My wife, Dang, took care of them because I was still asleep but I was already awake when they all left for school. My kids always say goodbye to me before they leave and they were all carrying their gifts for the party.
Dang was with Baby Rain all day. Well, Baby Rain is only 4 years old that’s why Dang is always with him. I followed them after an hour to take some photos of the party. I wasn’t able to take photos of Kuya Ar-ar and Ate Aryan’s party because they’re in different schools. (more…)

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007Puto Bumbong is a local Philippine treat which is also part of the Philippine Christmas Tradition. Here, the Christmas season officially starts on the first day of the “Simbang Gabi” or Mass At Dawn which is a 9 day novena to the Blessed Mother and it starts on December 16.
During this period or even throughout the holidays, vendors selling Puto Bumbong line the streets around churches all over the country. Puto Bumbong is made of ground rice and cooked in bamboo tubes using a traditional steamer. It has a violet or purple color and served with butter and grated coconut meat on a heated banana leaf. Tuesday, December 18th, 2007Since my last client was a total bust for not paying a fair price for the work done, Christmas this year will be a little different.
