Rodymel and Romelyn didn’t get anything because they already know the secret behind the whole Santa Claus thing.

On Christmas Day, I spent the whole day at home while Rodylyn and the kids visited nearby relatives. Visiting relatives like Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, etc. on Christmas Day to greet and wish them a Merry Christmas is an old Filipino Christmas Tradition. In exchange, children are often given gifts in the form of toys and/or money. Godparents (Ninongs and Ninangs) are also visited but I don’t think Rodylyn took the kids to any of their Godparents this year.

<a

We were also able to buy them some gifts. Rodymel got a guitar, Romelyn got a cellphone, Rain got a bicycle and Rhomiel got more new clothes. Also, Rain got a remote controlled car and Rhomiel got a Spongebob stuff doll from Santa Claus.

<a

It could be anyone who comes in and out of our home everyday. The cellphone is not really that expensive. In fact, it’s actually very cheap but still I paid good money to buy that for my son. What worst? It got stolen right from inside our home.

I was sleeping when the cellphone disappeared but, according to my wife and son, the cellphone was just on the television cabinet when it suddenly disappeared. They noticed the disappearance when my wife’s eldest sister asked if she can use the cellphone to send someone a text message. Unfortunately, the cellphone was no longer there.

Also, when I woke up late that night, I noticed that the my digital camera’s leather cover was also missing. My guess is, whoever took the cellphone also took the leather cover to hide it which just convinced me even more that the thief is someone we know. It could even be one of my wife’s relatives because no one else comes in and out of our home except them but unfortunately that is something that is hard to prove since no one saw anything.

This morning, before he went to school, I told my son not to worry anymore about the cellphone. I know he feels responsible for losing it that’s why I told him not to worry about it. It wasn’t his fault it got stolen. Although, I won’t be able to buy him a replacement now because of our current financial situation but I told him that once our financial status gets better I’ll buy him a replacement.

As for who took it, I guess there’s really nothing we can do anymore. We have our suspect but without solid evidence that he took it then all we have is suspicion.
