Recently, I finished a few design projects for a client. 2 static websites, an ebay template and an ebook cover. I decided to bill the client for it because we really needed the money but, unfortunately, my client said I still need to finish the rest before getting paid. I asked how many more and he sent a list of work to do which, including the first 4, totals 13 jobs. The jobs include designing and creating websites, brochures and graphics designs. He priced all 13 jobs at $250 and if you divide that to 13 will give you less than $20 per job. On that list, I can understand that 1 or 2 or even 3 are worth $20 but the rest like designing new websites and creating brochures are worth more than $20.
I told my wife about it and after a long discussion (and being scolded for accepting work cheap) she said NO! That I should just demand payment for the work done, which I did, and just forget about it. I also asked other people’s opinion about it and they agreed that, even with my shortcomings, $20 for a website is too freaking low. Well, I do agree with them, $20 is only 800 pesos, with today’s exchange rate, and that is not cheap, that is inhuman. I asked because I wanted to know their opinion about it.
My wife said NO and she is right. It’s not worth it.

My wife, Dang, is 5 months pregnant and we will be expecting a new baby by April or May this coming 2008. This is going to be our fourth and final child and yes we did plan to have four kids. There is a gap of four years between each of our kids. Our eldest is 12 years old, turning 13 this January, our second child is 8 years old and our third child is 4 years old. We already 2 boys and 1 girl, so we are really hoping that our new baby will be a girl. In fact, we already have a name prepared for her, Rhomiel Cloudia. We are going to stick with that name until after the Ultra Sound where we’ll know the baby’s gender.
We are very excited about it, even the kids are excited and eager to see the new baby, and I’m very happy that my wife is not having any problems with her pregnancy. After four months, I’ll be posting pictures of our new baby!

Well, Aryan turned 8 years old today. I felt a little guilty because we had no big celebration this year unlike the years that passed.
Aryan’s previous birthday celebrations were always big (at least in our own little way). It was always marked by a swimming, a small party or an out of town trip. It doesn’t mean that we love her more than Kuya and Baby Rain, it just happened that Aryan’s birthday is in the summer, during their school vacation. It’s the timing!
Unfortunately, this year wasn’t that good for us so I guess everyone just have to make some sacrifices until we get everything back rolling on the right track.
Anyway, I made my kids a promise and I’ll keep it no matter how difficult it was. Wish me luck!

I stopped what I was doing last night at around 3 (a.m.) in the morning so that I could take a few hours to sleep and be ready to vote the same day. Dang left early to fulfill her duty as a poll watcher for incumbent mayor Vicente Amante while I spent the rest of the morning doing my daily work and play rituals. We weren’t planning on watching Spider-man 3 today but we ended up watching it anyways. What happened was, I asked my wife, Dang, to go to Calamba City to do something for me and to bring Kuya and Ate with her so she can shop for some new clothes for them. It was very early in the morning, around 8 am I think, when I remembered that Spider-man 3 was currently being shown in theaters around the country. I said to myself, what if we all go and watch it together. I thought it was a very nice idea and told Dang about it. The kids were also happy to learn that all of us are going to Calamba City to watch Spider-man 3. [...continue reading Spider-man 3]
