Old Bags and School Uniforms From Twinkle

    Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011

May 2, 2011 – School season is just a month away and it usually involves buying school supplies like bags and school uniforms but thanks to Twinkle we are going to skip that part because she asked Dang to pick up some old bags and school uniforms from her place at Villongco Street, Villongco Subdivision, San Pablo City. The bags and school uniforms Twinkle asked Dang to pick up were still in very good condition. In fact, most of them looked brand new.

Thanks to these bags and school uniforms, our problem has lessen a little because, now, we are only going to worry about other school supplies like notebooks, pencils, papers and others. Money for tuition fees is not going to be a big problem because Rodymel, Romelyn and Rain are all attending Public Schools but we still have to pay for miscellaneous expenses which can be very high. Good Friday Procession 2011

    Sunday, April 24th, 2011

April 22, 2011 – After the Street Senakulo, Rizal Avenue and a few other streets in San Pablo City were lined-up with beautifully decorated carriages carrying statues of Jesus Christs, the Saints and others. They were getting ready for the annual Good Friday Procession that depicts the Passion of the Christ or simply the last hours of our Lord Jesus Christ here on Earth.

    Good Friday Procession, 2011

This year’s Good Friday Procession was very special because there was only one big procession featuring all the carriages in the City. I think San Pablo City has the best carriages in the country and the carriage carrying the Last Supper Scene was once the biggest before it was cut down to size. The Last Supper carriage used to span both lanes of Rizal Avenue and turning it was a very hard task for the men pulling it. (more…)

    We Watched The Senakulo 2011

    Saturday, April 23rd, 2011

April 22, 2011 – Today, the entire family went out to see the Senakulo. We have never seen it before but we saw it today because Dang’s nephew, Anjo, was in it. The Senakulo is like a dramatization of the last few hours of Jesus Christ here on Earth. The Senakulo that we watched was a Street Senakulo where the performance was done on the street instead of a stage.

Good Friday 2011, Sgt. Luis De Roma Street

Because it was a Street Senakulo, the audience also had to follow the group as they perform or they won’t see anything. Did I follow the performance? Nope. It was very hot that day so I just waited at the City Plaza where the crucifixion took place. Of course, no one was actually crucified because the performers in this Street Senakulo were only kids. In fact, Rain asked us if they were really crucified on the cross. We told him that they were not really crucified and that they were only re-enacting the scene of Jesus Christ’s final hour here on Earth. (more…)

    My Younger Brother’s Funeral

    Friday, April 15th, 2011

My younger brother Ritchie died in a motorcycle accident a few days ago. The motorcycle he was riding on went out of control and threw him off of it. He landed badly and hit his head on the concrete gutter. According to those I talked to, he died immediately. He was riding along with a neighbor and both of them had some to drink when the accident happened. His neighbor survived, though. They were coming home from an overnight swimming party organized by our cousin, had some alcohol to drink and went home.

    My Younger Brother's Funeral

Ritchie left a wife and two very young children. They’re currently residing at Barleta Subdivision. I just wished I could have helped them more but, unfortunately, I have problems of my own. Contrary to what you see here on our Family Blog, we are also not doing very well but we do try our best to make our situation work for us. Feeling sorry or down will just build up more negative energy. (more…)

    New Year’s Eve 2010

    Sunday, January 2nd, 2011

On New Year’s Eve, we all stayed up late for the Media Noche (except for Baby Rhomiel). Dang was able to prepare something for us to celebrate the coming of the New Year. We don’t have any firecrackers because I don’t like them and they are very dangerous. I do see the appeal of lighting-up firecrackers but a brief moment of excitement is not worth the harm it could inflict on anyone.

(Dang prepared a little something for our Media Noche)

We also had our exchange gift on New Year’s Eve. We’ve been having a family exchange gift for a few years now and we usually do it on Christmas Eve but this year we did it on New Year’s Eve. We spent New Year’s Eve together as a family. We didn’t have an extravagant feast, we didn’t have any firecrackers nor fireworks but, still, we did enjoy the evening because we have each other. Itong Family Christmas 2010

    Sunday, December 26th, 2010

As with previous years, cash was very tight this Christmas but we don’t let that stop us from enjoying it. My wife and I, together with Rodymel, Romelyn and Rain, stayed up till midnight for a simple but very satisfying Noche Buena.

    Itong Family Christmas 2010

Later that morning, Rain and Rhomiel found their gifts from Santa Claus. Rodymel and Romelyn didn’t get anything because they already know the secret behind the whole Santa Claus thing. (more…)
